Our Services

  • Psychoeducational assessment and diagnosis of specific learning and behavioral disabilities, including evaluation and analysis of cognitive and information processing strengths and weaknesses as well as mental health, social, cultural, environmental, or other factors that might impede learning. After the assessment process, I will analyze the data to develop recommendations including accommodations or additional supports in schools and present you with a report that you can use for a variety of purposes. Some common reasons people ask for an evaluation include:

To gain general insight about their learning strengths and difficulties to find areas needing improvement or ways to enhance their strengths

To provide a school with recommendations for areas of need and disability, accommodations, and modifications*

This can be for students in PS-12th grade or in higher education if you would like to be assessed for educational accommodations in college

To provide an Individual Educational Evaluation (IEE) in place of an evaluation administered by a school district school psychologist or if families have concerns over a district's assessment findings and request the district to pay for an additional evaluation as an IEE for their child

To test for gifted or talented education as part of requirements of a school or program

  • * Public schools are required, by law to identify and evaluate any students suspected of having a disability that would require Special Education. This component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is called Child Find. If you suspect that your child has a disability that is affecting their education, you have the right to request to have your child evaluated in all areas of suspected disability. Under California state law, the school is required to respond to a written request for an evaluation of your child within 15 calendar days . You can download the a Notice of Procedural Safeguards in English and other languages to find out more about your rights as a parent on the California Department of Education's Family Involvement & Partnerships website at https://www.cde.ca.gov/sp/se/fp/.

    * My findings after an evaluation will not guarantee that your child will qualify for services at their school or that schools are required to follow my recommendations. When parents provide my assessment report to the school, whether by an IEE or a private evaluation, the school must consider the results of the assessment. This does not mean that the school will agree with the findings or implement the recommendations. If you have questions about this, I will do my best to answer them during your free consultation.
